Retrospective: IcKasso & Alexy Garnier exhibit their art at Hôtel du Clos

A review by

At the Hôtel du Clos*** in Le Rouret, Annik and Guy Garnier invited the artists IcKasso and Alexy-Louis Garnier to spend a weekend in a calm and soothing haven of greenery.

The summer art exhibition held on 17 and 18 June 2023 in this haven of calm and greenery in Le Rouret featured works by sculptor and painter IcKasso and photographer Alexy-Louis Garnier. In symbiosis with its verdant surroundings, this superb open-air exhibition invited visitors to take a fresh look at this exceptional green setting dotted with works of art as they strolled through the countryside, facing the majestic 19th-century stone bastide.

Through her painted sculptures, Isabelle Conrozier Kassovic depicts a colourful world where love rhymes with humour. Her terracotta works, all unique and faceless, are created in her studio in Le Rouret near Grasse. Les Demoiselles d’Isabelle, stylised female sculptures painted in acrylic, are created under the artistic signature of IcKasso, while the Classics Kassovic, classical female sculptures in bronze, display their sensuality with serenity.

Photographer Alexis-Louis Garnier, whose hobby is travelling the world, took visitors on a magnificent journey through photographs taken during his escapades across the United States – such as those taken in the heart of Manhattan – including New York’s famous sciurus carolinensis squirrel, W 57th St and 7th Ave (New York), a superb sunset taken from the Brooklyn Bridge and Philadelphia’s Finding Home Mural. Passionate about nature and animals, Alexis has travelled the length and breadth of the Arctic Circle in complete autonomy. From his journey he has brought back some magnificent photos, including one of a family of reindeer taken 300 metres away under a garden tarpaulin.

Trajectoires : Mina Feingold’s exhibition at the Hôtel du Clos

From August 2 to 8, the Hotel du Clos will host the work of Mina Feingold, in a solo exhibition entitled “Trajectoires”.

Mina Feingold is a visual artist who started out as a sculptor and very quickly moved towards monumental work. From the beginning, it was the study of the body that guided her creation. Over the years, her practice and her fields of research have extended to different mediums and different subjects, to give life to a work that is above all human.

Conceived as a walk in the open air, “Trajectoires” highlights the artist’s path. From her first bronze sculptures to her latest mosaic creations, the works trace her artistic journey, in the magical setting of the gardens of the Hôtel du Clos.
